About Us!: A History of Big Tree Plantation
For more than 25 years, Big Tree Plantation has been a family favorite for area residents of Ohio wanting to choose and cut the perfect Christmas tree, or select living trees to landscape their home or office.
Nestled around a 9-acre lake, the setting is perfect for a family outing, including a wagon ride to the fields, choosing the perfect tree, cutting the tree by hand, and a steaming cup of hot chocolate while our staff shakes the loose needles for you and bundles the tree helping you tie it onto your car!
Dr. Frank and Ann Antenucci
The farm is currently owned by Dr. Frank and Ann Antenucci. Frank and Ann purchased the farm in 1983 to be used as a recreation destination for family and friends, but over the years have established themselves among the most knowledgeable Christmas tree growers in the United States.
Frank and Ann have a passion for Christmas and families coming out to enjoy the farm. Growing nearly 60 acres of Christmas trees has provided the opportunity to bring these two pursuits together. Even before they opened the farm for choose and cut Christmas trees, they kept meticulous notes on how the care and treatment they provided each tree affected the outcome. Every year the trees have gotten fuller, more beautiful and have lasted longer through the holiday season for your family’s enjoyment.
Keetons and Antenuccis
The Antenuccis began to see the need to transition the business to ensure future generations of families will have the same opportunity to create memories at Big Tree Plantation. Finding someone to match Frank’s passion for keeping Christ in Christmas and the drive to provide year around care to all of the trees was not a quick process.
In 2010 the Antenucci family partnered with Bryan and Jennifer Keeton. Bryan is a 4th generation farmer whose family grew grain and cattle, and he and Jennifer are working alongside the Antenuccis to assure a smooth and successful transition.
Today Big Tree Plantation has over 50,000 harvestable trees with more being planted every year! We expect to continue the tradition of award winning, beautiful trees-and more importantly, providing your family a memorable experience.
The Keetons also plan to retain the traditions so many people have come to expect, incuding the beautiful life size Fontanini 
Nativity that is on display in the Gift Barn. Weekends, actors re-enact Mary and Joseph on their way to Bethlehem, helping families share the joy and excitement that the Holy Christmas Season brings.
Families that have returned to Big Tree Plantation year after year will be pleased to know that Frank and Ann will continue to visit the guests on the farm, and help you become acquainted with their new partners, Bryan and Jennifer.
